Use SAT or ACT Math Scores for Math Placement

You will be placed into the following courses based on your SAT or ACT scores:

SAT math score 630 or above or ACT math score 28 or above:  You will be placed into Calculus (MAT 125 or 127, depending on your major).

SAT math score between 550 and 620 or ACT math score between 24 and 27:  You will be placed into Precalculus (MAT 119) or Introduction to Functions (MAT 120), depending on your major.

SAT math score below 550 or ACT math score below 24:  You will be placed into Intermediate Algebra (MAT 095).

If you feel that placement based on your SAT or ACT math score does not accurately reflect your math abilities, you may take the math placement test.  For more information about 

If you would like to use your SAT or ACT score for math placement, you must have your official SAT or ACT scores sent from the testing company to TCNJ, and if you have not already done so, you should make your request to the testing company as soon as possible.  If you have already sent your scores to TCNJ, you are all set.
